Every Night
Night care protects your style more than anything else you do at home.
- Cover your hair before bed. Sleep in a silk or satin scarf or bonnet, or on a silk or satin pillowcase, to reduce frizz and friction.
- Let your hair dry completely first. Make sure your hair and scalp are fully dry before you cover them for the night.
- Keep tension off your edges. Tie your scarf or bonnet gently, and avoid anything that pulls at your hairline.
- Handle your style gently. Avoid pulling, twisting, or redoing sections between appointments.
Daily Care
Light, gentle care keeps your style fresh and your scalp comfortable.
- Lightly mist your hair before you add any product, and use a light leave-in on the lengths.
- Keep your scalp clean, and rinse thoroughly so product does not build up.
- Wear ponytails and updos loosely so they do not pull at your edges.
- For perm rod sets and defined curls, avoid brushing or combing through the curls.
- For locs, keep your roots clean and let your locs dry completely after washing.
What to avoid
- Tight ponytails or updos that pull at your edges.
- Sleeping on cotton without a scarf or bonnet.
- Heavy oils, butters, or grease that build up on the scalp.
- Scratching or picking at your scalp, parts, or sections.
Booking Your Refresh
Book your next appointment when your parts, edges, or new growth start to look less neat, or when your curls begin to lose their shape. For locs, book your re-twist when your new growth needs to be maintained.
If a section feels tight or your edges feel sore, message me right away so the tension does not lead to breakage.
